In steps the Sonicare Flexcare Pro (HX6932). I managed to get it on offer which meant I received two handles, three heads, a soft and hard carry case, shaving socket charger, and a UV Sanitiser… Quite a complete set-up I must say, and quite a lot of space taken up on my bathroom shelf!!!

Out of the box there are quite a few improvements with the replacement brush heads just popping onto the holder, sliding over a slotted shaft, as opposed to the old magnet system. This makes the whole brush smaller, and i would imagine as less plastic is used more environmentally friendly too. The whole connection method has been simplified mean for less nooks and crannies for toothpaste build up, meaning the Flexcare will be a lot easier to keep clean and maintain than the last (Sonicare Elite).

The Sonicare Replacement brush head seems to have been reshaped too with the bristles being shaped to allow for more reach at the back, and to get into those tighter spots. Again an improvement over the flat brush head of the Elite.

There seems to be quite a few settings on the brush that will need to play with further before any comment can be made on these – but from what I can see I will just keep using the clean function as i did on the Sonicare Elite!!!

Teeth whiter
That’s what my wife says anyway! Switched to one of these (Sonicare Toothbrush) as my electrical toothbrush from another other brand was ageing. Despite the soft setting the first few brushings were reasonably comfortable – it then eased so this might have been the brush head. The gum massage function does a good job but not something i use regularly and the UV cleaner is useful if you’d kept the brush festering in a sponge bag when travelling.

Why Sanitise?

Useful information on this is provided by Philips along with a nice graphical animation.
However, details you should consider in reference to sanitising include:

• Germs on your brush head thrive in its moist environment
• Germs will remain among the debris and plaque left after each brushing
• Germs can remain on a dry brush head for upto 48 hours
• Toothbrush heads can contain roughly 100,000,000 microorgansims (test have shown)
• The sanitiser uses the same UVC methods used in hospitals
